ANTON GUDZIKEVICH
"For me, preparing for a new canvas, a new plot is very important, and it's not about trying to overload the picture with meaning. First of all, I am looking for a mood, trying to capture the state I consider the most suitable now and then I find color and compositional solutions to transfer this emotional signal on my canvas. I do not oppose myself to the viewer, who often has too little time to solve the labyrinths of conceptual art, but I try to build a dialogue and focus on conveying the true mood of the moment: watching an airplane take off or a drifting yacht, enjoying the beauty of the warm coast, forgetting about the worries and experiences that our life is full of. And this is not a trial to escape from problems, but meditation designed to charge us with strength for further movement."
A modern Crimean artist. Anton Gudzikevich was born and raised in the Crimea, in the city of Yalta. Currently he lives and works in Barcelona.
In 2004-2010 he studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kiev (tutors: V.B. Golynsky, professor V.I. Gurin).
In 2015-2019 he studied Fine Arts at the Polytechnic Institute named after San Carlo, Spain, Valencia.
The main theme in the work of the modern Crimean artist Anton Gudzikevich is the ocean, the sky and the mountains - in a word, the pristine beauty of the land and the underwater world. He admires the beauty of the south, masterfully conveying the fluctuations of warm air, the twinkling of lights in the night and the sweet aroma of mountain herbs.
Through his admiration for nature Anton gently draws our attention to the problem of ecology. The artist's works are in the collections of the Livadia Palace Museum, the Art Museum named after Kroshitsky, the Museum of Modern Art of Ukraine, art galleries in Spain, private collections in Russia, Ukraine and abroad.
